“Tell me more…” - How the Ride podcast began

I want to launch a podcast, I said, taking a sip of strong coffee.

“Tell me more,” said Jonny.

I think there’s a place for in-depth conversations about how urban mobility is changing, featuring interesting and opinionated people who really know what they’re talking about.

“Tell me more,” said Jonny.

I want to bring together experts in their field, from auto industry executives and start-up leaders, to consultants, researchers, academics, authors, thought leaders, and city planners.

“Tell me m…”

And I want them to discuss specific topics in a way that’s engaging and informative, not just for those in the industry, but also for those people you might call curious civilians.

“Tell m…”

And I want to do it as a podcast.

“Sounds great! I love the idea. D’you fancy working together to make it happen?” asked Jonny.

And just like that, Ride: The Urban Mobility Podcast was born.

Jonny and I both have plenty of public speaking experience, a shared love of the automotive industry, and a vested interest in the business of urban mobility.

One of us runs a tech company in the parking sector and has an extensive background in automaker innovation and finance; the other has over 20 years’ experience in automotive research, journalism, publishing, and consulting.

We’ve developed some great contacts over the years, and we saw a perfect opportunity to pool resources.

But Ride isn’t about us - it’s about the guests. We’ll bring them together, and tee up the discussion, but we’ll give the guests the space they need to “inform, educate and entertain” the Ride podcast listeners.

We’d love to tell you more - so come and join us on the Ride!
